Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) is responsible for generating, acquiring and transmitting electricity to two distribution utilities, Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) and Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) as well as few direct customers. Under the present Enhanced Single Buyer (ESB) model of Thailand ’ s electricity supply industry, EGAT is presently the largest power producer in Thailand and also the single buyer from other local private power producers and neighboring countries.
